The Economics Association of P. G. and Research Department of Economics, Jamal Mohamed College has organised a special lecture by Mr. S Ashok Sundaresan, Chartered Accountant, Stock Broker and Entrepreneur, on 6th February 2023 at the Economics Seminar Hall. The Guest speaker highlighted the key features of Union Budget 2023 in a simple manner. He has enlighten the students with basic understanding of budget estimation of Indian government by giving real life examples of day to day household income, expenses and loans of individuals. He further justified the efforts of Union government to satisfy all sections of the Indian society through its budget allocation. He was also presenting the budget allocation made by the government to various sectors such as health, education, railways, defence, industry etc and the estimated sources of revenue & debt. He has concluded the lecture by encouraging th young student minds to critically compare and analyse the budget allocations and achievements of Union Budget 2022 and Union Budget 2023 and come up with policy suggestions for the government.
