The guest lecture program on the antimicrobial activities on the textiles was organized for the post graduate students for their research purpose.  The focus was mainly on the medical textiles.  The speaker provided us with clear knowledge on extraction of phytocompounds from the plants, the methods of extraction and the types of extract methods.  The focus was also on the types of microbes and its effects on the textiles with various finishes.  The types of tests include for the antimicrobial activity were also discussed.  The students gained a good knowledge on the antimicrobial tests of textiles.
