Dr. P. SHAHUL HAMEED ENDOWMENT LECTURE

Dr. P. Shahul Hameed Endowment Lecture on “Environmental Science and Technology” was organized in the P.G Department of Zoology, Jamal Mohamed College (Autonomous), Tiruchirappalli on Wednesday, the 15th December 2021. This is the ninth Endowment Lecture on the series in our department for consecutive years.
Dr. I. JOSEPH A. JERALD, Associate Professor and Head, Dept. of Zoology welcomed the gathering and introduced the Chief Guest to the audience. He also gave a briefing of the Endowment and spoke of Prof. Dr. P. Shahul Hameed and his services to Jamal Mohamed College. Dr. A. MOHAMED IBRAHEEM, Vice-Principal, Jamal Mohamed College presided over the function. Dr. K. ABDUS SAMAD, Assistant Secretary and Dr. P. SHAHUL HAMEED felicitated the gathering.
Dr. K. PALANIVEL, Professor & Head, Department of Remote Sensing, Bharathidasan University, Tiruchirappalli – 620023, was the guest speaker to deliver the Endowment lecture on “Geographic Information System (GIS) in Environment Management”. In his elaborate address, he spoke on the technological advancements that have taken place in the various artificial satellites that are being launched and the sophisticated imageries received from them for Scientific interpretations. He also applauded GIS saying it could be a break through when the technique is appropriately made use for disaster management practices.
Dr. R. KRISHNAMOORTHY, Assistant Professor, Dept. of Zoology proposed a vote of thanks.
