National Seminar on
INNOVATIVE RESEARCH APPROACHES IN VACCINE TECHNOLOGY

A one-day National Seminar on INNOVATIVE RESEARCH APPROACHES IN VACCINE TECHNOLOGY” (IRAVT - 2022) was organized in the P.G Department of Zoology, Jamal Mohamed College (Autonomous), Tiruchirappalli on the 28th May 2022. Vaccine Technology, Animal Biotechnology, Drug design and Delivery, Eco-toxicology, Cancer Biology, Molecular Biology, Immuno-technology, Radiation Biology, Microbiology and Stem Cell Biology were the theme areas of the Seminar.Dr. P. GNANAGURU M. D. Professor and Head, Department of Microbiology, Govt. Medical College, Tiruchirappalli-01, inaugurated the Seminar in the morning and delivered a lecture on “VACCINE, VACCINE TECHNOLOGY AND RECENT UPDATION”. Dr. Mohamed Ibrahim, Vice-Principal, Jamal Mohamed College presided over the function and Management Committee Members felicitated the gathering. Dr. I. JOSEPH A. JERALD, Associate Professor and Head, Dept. of Zoology welcomed the gathering and Dr. M. ANEEZ MOHAMED, Associate Professor, Dept. of Zoology proposed a vote of thanks.
As many as 20 delegates from reputed institutions participated in the event and a few research abstract were received from Faculty members, Research scholars, UG and PG students. All the accepted research works would be published in the form of an Abstract Book. The soft copy of the version was also released as a CD in the Inaugural session. I whole heartedly thank all the participants for their immense contribution in the form of abstracts of their research works. A remarkable thing to mention here is the enthusiasm and interest of faculty members shown for presenting their significant research findings. All the research scholars together with the faculty members have succeeded in their attempts to present their papers, which helped to motivate young minds and create a scientific temper among the student community. In recognition of their efforts, we have also distributed prizes for the best presentations.
The second session was continued by a lecture given by Dr. P. RAMALINGAM, Senior Scientist, ICMR- National Institute for Research in Tuberculosis (NIRT), Chennai-31 on “COVID-19: VACCINE STRATEGIES”. He has discussed the role of Vaccine and various modern Vaccine techniques, in understanding the problems associated with Human disease and Pharma science.
In the afternoon session a lecture on “ANTIDOTE FOR CANCER” by Dr. M. RAM MOHAN, Director, Cheran College of Pharmacy, Coimbatore was delivered. His talk was informative with details of his studies regarding brest cancer and the drugs screened for it at the National University of Singapore.
Dr. M. RAM MOHAN Director, Cheran College of Pharmacy, Coimbatore delivered the valedictory address. Dr. S. ISMAIL MOHIDEEN, Principal, Jamal Mohamed College presided over the Valedictory session. Dr. A.K. KHAJA NAZEEMUDEEN, Secretary and Correspondent of the College, Hajee M.J. JAMAL MOHAMED, Treasurer and Dr. K. Abdus Samad, Assistant Secretary, felicitated. Certificates along with prizes for the best paper presentation were awarded. Before which Feedback of the Seminar was given by participants. A detailed report of the Seminar was readout by Dr. R. Krishnamoorthy the Organising Secretary of the Days’ proceedings and finally the programme came to an end with the Vote of Thanks proposed by Dr. A. Sadiq Bukhari, Assistant Professor, Dept. of Zoology, Tiruchirappalli.
