A one day International Conference on “Challenges to Environment and Health” (ICCEH - 2020) was organized in the P.G department of Zoology, Jamal Mohamed College (Autonomous), Tiruchirappalli on 30th January 2019. This is the second International Conference in our department for the consecutive years. Biodiversity Conservation, Molecular Biology, Aquaculture, Marine Biology, Vector Biology, Bioremediation, Radiation Biology, Animal Biotechnology, Vermiculture Technology, Environmental Toxicology, Environmental Biotechnology and Environmental Microbiology were the theme areas of the conference.

About 250 research papers were received from Faculty members, Research scholars, PG and UG students. Among them, selected 169 papers were selected for presentation. All the accepted works were published in abstract book with ISBN number. I am very proud to tell that this is the first time, an abstract book has published in our Department with this much paper and also with an ISBN number. In this regard, I wholeheartedly thank all the participants for their immense contributions in the form of abstracts of their research works. Another remarkable thing to mention here is the enthusiasm and interest of faculty members showed for presenting their important research work here in this event. All the research scholars together with the faculty members has succeeded in their attempts to present their great works here, which helped to motivate young minds and to create a scientific temper among the student community. To recognise their efforts, we have also distributed prizes for the best presentations.
