As a part of Economics Association activities, The PG and Research Department of Economics organized a special lecture on “Budget 2022: India Reviving and Accelerating” by Dr.B.Balamurugan, Assistant Professor of Economics, Thanthai Periyar Arts and Science College. Tiruchirappalli - 620020 on 9th April 2022 Saturday at Economics Seminar Hall for our department students.
The session started with a recitation of few verses from the Holy Quran by Mr. Abdul Majeed, II BA Economics. The Head of the department welcomed the gathering and introduced the Chief guest to the students.
The Guest speaker explained the evolution of budget in India. He highlighted the budget allocations for various sectors of Indian economy. He further presented the various schemes introduced for agricultural sector, Telecommunication, Infrastructure, Health care, Education sector under Budget 2022.
He explained the merits and demerits of Privatization of Public sector enterprises. He also presented the important financial allocations towards Inter Linking of Indian Rivers and its benefits towards agricultural sectors. The trends of GDP over the past decade were critically evaluated and discussed in detail with the students.
The Guest speaker answered the various queries raised by the students regarding State and Central Budget 2022 and also various global economic crisis including Srilanka’s current economic situation. The session ended with vote of Thanks by Mr. Mohamed Ali Mohideen of II MA Economics.
